The best place to start is by learning the tarot card meanings.
Discover what each Tarot card means, including the story you see in the card and the symbolism. Create a list of key words to help you remember what each one means to you.
There are no ‘right' or ‘wrong' meanings of the Tarot cards. Traditional interpretations have their place, but I encourage you to trust your intuition and go with the meanings that feel right for you.
The Tarot deck consists of 78 cards, each with its own imagery, symbolism and story.
The 22 Major Arcana cards represent life's spiritual and karmic lessons. They represent life’s journey to self-awareness and depict the various stages travel through as we search for greater meaning and understanding. The characters depicted in the Major Arcana cards hold deeply meaningful lessons on a soul level.
The 56 Minor Arcana cards reflect the problems and everyday aspects of life that we experience day to day. These Tarot cards bring awareness to the more practical aspects of life and can offer guidance to current issues or problems that have a moderate or temporary influence on our life situations.
Within the Minor Arcana cards, there are 16 Tarot Court Cards each representing 16 different personality types and their characteristics which we may find we express in ourselves or encounter in those around us at any given time. There are also the 40 numbered cards organised into 4 Suits – Cups, Pentacles, Swords and Wands – each with 10 cards, representing various situations that we encounter day-to-day.
The Tarot is like the storybook of our life. They are a point of reference to the raw materials with which we are creating our life experience. They mirror our soul, and provide valuable keys to our inner wisdom.
Every experience or spiritual lesson we encounter in our lives can be referenced in the seventy-eight Tarot cards. And when we consult the Tarot, we are shown the exact lessons we need to learn and master in order to live life by our design instead of by default. It’s like holding up a mirror to yourself so that we can access our subconscious mind and align with our voice of inner wisdom the answers we are looking for are already inside us all.
